The important area on the east development axis of Mlynske Nivy became the subject of the urban study. Former brown fields mostly with abandoned facilities, close to the centre, represent great potential for the development of the city.
SIEBERT + TALAŠ proposed a multifunctional approach to the future development of the area. The contribution is in the clever solution of communication networks - especially pedestrians crossing, connected to public transport and the creation of common utilities.
The study opened up questions of modern urban planning and above all the opportunity of financing the building of public infrastructure in the economic market. This lead to the foundation of the Institute of Urban Development as discussion platform and subsequent steps in changes to the legislation.
