The Museum of ancient Gerulata follows very efficient ancient roman urban typology which transforms to profit the advantages of the site, permitting the visitors desired views and functional connections.

The basic idea is not only about scientific presentation; rather it is concerned with the presentation of history that does not stop. A History which is as important as a piece of stone found under a layer of earth as to a visitor´s experience. For these reasons, the museum here does not represent just purely rational grouped areas, but it should inspire and emit magic.

This has led the concept to nearly violate the strict cubic morphology of the building to stage some of the exhibition spaces, create interesting views towards the plaza, remains of walls and foundations from the Ancient Rome époque.
